Did you ever think about saying to them: “I hope you know what you’re doing.”

I hope they know what they’re doing. Yesterday the cat water dish on the north side of the house never thawed. I was just out digging around and the dirt is frozen for 3/4 of an inch on the surface. High clouds are flowing over the crest in advance of the next storm. Some forecasts are calling for snow at low elevations.

Robins scratch in the yard, grosbeaks visit the bird feeder, nuthatches twitter. I’ve heard geese flying over the house.

I don’t need to worry about crocus. They’ll take it all in stride. I just don’t want to get my hopes up for spring only to have them dashed.
