Another early cousin that pops thru the snow in early spring are the Avalanch Lilies. Easy to spot in yellow flower, but a reminder that in avalanche country (where they thrive) caution should be observed lest a real avalanche should happen and scare you enough to also leave a “yellow
patch” on the snow – nuff said.
